What it is
Endodontics is the careful treatment of the soft tissue inside a tooth. When a deep cavity, crack, or injury reaches the nerve, a root canal removes the infection, cleans the inside of the tooth, and seals it so you can keep your natural tooth for years to come.
Who it's for
Anyone with a throbbing toothache, lingering sensitivity to hot or cold, pain when biting, or a dental abscess. If we can save the tooth instead of pulling it, a root canal is almost always the kinder option for your bite and your jawbone.
What to expect on the day
We numb the area thoroughly so you feel nothing sharp, then use fine instruments and rotary tools to clean the canals, disinfect them, and fill them with a stable, biocompatible material. A crown or a permanent filling protects the tooth afterwards.
How long it takes
60–90 minutes per visit, usually finished in one or two appointments.
Today’s root canals are nothing like the stories you may have heard. With modern anesthesia, rotary instruments, and digital imaging, the appointment itself feels much like a deep filling — and the relief afterwards is immediate.
